Hi Tim,
As I read that, a possibly useful bit of info popped into my head. :)
Although it's pretty common for people to use absolute path names for disk images, it doesn't have to be done that way. Apparently disk image paths can be given in the format of pool:volume_name instead.
It's something I've been meaning to look into for ages, as it makes more sense to me, but I've just not gotten around to yet.
