With the introduction of GTK3 it is now possible to use a library
called libpeas to allow arbitrary user supplied plugins for apps.
It would be desirable to get virt-manager working with GTK3 and
then introduce this library so users can experiment with various
extension ideas themselves.
In C at least it is practical to make apps build with either GTK2
or GTK3. It would be worth checking how much pain it is to keep
compat with both GTK2 and GKT3 in Python..
