Hello,
I have been attempting to create a virtual machine with a virtio console.
However, it does not appear to be working as I've read in, for example,
http://www.redhat.com/archives/libvir-list/2012-May/msg00964.html . After I
create my virtual machine, no devices appear on the host. What am I doing
wrong?
Here is my virt-install:
virt-install \
--ram=1024 \
--accelerate \
--name testola \
--vcpus=1,maxvcpus=2 \
--cpuset=auto \
--pxe \
--os-type=linux \
--os-variant=rhel7 \
--disk path=/var/kvm/testola.img \
--boot=hd,network,menu=on \
-v \
--network bridge=br0 \
--graphics none \
--channel pty,target_type=virtio \
--console pty,target_type=virtio
Once I run that virt-install, I expect to see files/devices in
/sys/class/virtio-ports and /dev/vport0?? . But there are none.
Thanks.
